  • Police Memorial to Honor Fallen Officers

    The Ohio State University Police Division (OSUPD) will honor fallen officer Michael Blankenship as part of National Police Week. Blankenship was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 10, 1997. The public is invited to attend a Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony on Friday, May 17 at 3 p.m. outside Blankenship Hall.

  • Support Light Ohio Blue

    Light Ohio Blue is a statewide campaign to show support to the law enforcement personnel who protect our communities in Central Ohio and throughout our great state. Show your support by witnessing a Law Enforcement Caravan on Wednesday (5/8). Police cruisers from local agencies will join OSUPD and travel through campus from 7:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

    Workers at The Ohio State University continue installing locks on hundreds of classroom doors to improve on-campus safety.

    School officials say after a November 2016 on-campus attack, many students and faculty said they wanted more locks on doors.

  • In Memoriam - Norma Walker

    Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Norma J. Walker. She was the first female police officer hired in the Department of Public Safety’s Police Division, in July 1962. She was heralded as the first female campus officer in the Big Ten and one of the first in the country.
