Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Norma J. Walker. She was the first female police officer hired in the Department of Public Safety’s Police Division, in July 1962. She was heralded as the first female campus officer in the Big Ten and one of the first in the country. Here is a recent video of her reflecting on her accomplishments.
