Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

OSUPD Welcomes New Officer with Pinning Ceremony

The Ohio State University Police Division (OSUPD) welcomed Officer Erin Rainbolt to the division with a pinning ceremony on February 8, 2024.

“Policing at Ohio State University is unique in a good way because I feel like we truly have a chance to help others and serve and protect others,” said Rainbolt.

Rainbolt attended the Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) where she completed the police training academy. She was then hired as a police officer for the Blendon Township Police Department for a year before her most recent employment as an officer for the Dresden Police Department.

Officer Rainbolt will spend the next at least 14 weeks training with a field officer before being assigned to solo patrol.
