Public Safety Notice Clarification
Thursday afternoon, The Ohio State University Police Division issued a Public Safety Notice for a pair of incidents classified as hate crimes and aggravated assault. After careful consideration, we chose not to include the racial slur yelled by the suspects. However, in making that edit prior to sending the message, we mistakenly omitted the race of the victims. The victims who have come forward thus far in this case were all white, and the statements made by the suspects were derogatory toward white individuals.
We apologize for this omission and any questions or concerns it may have caused. The Public Safety Notice has been corrected online and via media outlets covering the incidents.
