Neighborhood Safety Notice - February 7, 2021

We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police regarding two separate and unrelated incidents that occurred in the off-campus area.

On 2/7/2021, at approximately 5:37 a.m., the Columbus Division of Police responded to a reported robbery at the United Dairy Farmers (UDF) located at 1680 N. High Street. A male suspect entered the store, implied that he had a gun and demanded that the clerk empty the register. The suspect stole money and goods and then left the store through Pearl Alley. Police believe he may have used a vehicle to flee the area.

No injuries were reported. Anyone with information related to this crime is encouraged to call the Columbus Division of Police at 614-645-4545.

In a separate incident that occurred last night, CPD were called to the corner of Indianola and Chittenden where an individual was found in a car deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. CPD are investigating the shooting as a suicide, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Crimes are never the fault of the victim. The Ohio State University Police Division encourages everyone to lock doors and windows. When possible, please walk with friends or coworkers and always be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. If you see something, say something: report suspicious behavior by calling police.
