Neighborhood Safety Notice:

We are sharing this news on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for a crime that occurred in the off-campus area.

On 10/26/17, at approximately 2:42 a.m., a male Ohio State student reported an armed robbery in the off-campus area of E. Lane Avenue and Tuller Street. The student reported to Columbus Police that an unknown male approached him, showed a gun and stole money before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described a 40-year-old white male, standing 6’0” tall and weighing 165 pounds with an untrimmed mustache and beard. Reports indicate the suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

The Columbus Division of Police is actively investigating and we encourage anyone with information related to this crime to call CPD at 614-645-4545. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may contact Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).

We remind you to increase your overall safety by being cautious and looking out for one another; being aware of your surroundings and looking assertive; walking with a trusted friend or co-worker, when possible; if a situation makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, choose an alternative.
