Officer Jacob Lee
How long have you been with OSUPD?
I’ve been with OSU PD since January of 2022
Where are you from and how does that help shape who you are today?
I’m from Gahanna, Ohio. Being born and raised in Gahanna has help me shape who I am today because I feel like Gahanna has a diverse community, which makes me feel like I’m able to speak to anyone and everyone I encounter.
What inspired you to become an OSUPD officer?
I was inspired to become an OSUPD officer by my father who retired from the Ohio Stage Highway Patrol. I was also inspired by doing a ride along with Lieutenant McIntyre while still studying criminal justice.
What’s unique about policing at Ohio state?
What I find unique about working for OSUPD is that the students, staff and faculty show a lot of appreciation towards OSUPD. Ohio State fans are passionate no matter the sport. I also love how big the alumni association is.
Why do you serve?
I serve because I want to help foster a positive relationship between students and officers and fight back against crime.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to spend time with friends and family, workout and attend sporting events.
What’s your favorite part about being a Buckeye?
My favorite part about being a Buckeye is that you could be anywhere in the world and yell, "O-H!" and someone out there would reply, "I-O!".
