Neighborhood Safety Notice:
We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for a crime that occurred in the off-campus area.
On 9/8/18, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a crime was reported to law enforcement by two Ohio State students. The male and female students reported that they were walking off-campus around 3 a.m. when three unknown males approached them in the alley between W. 8th and W. 9th Avenues and Highland Street. One of the suspects pointed a gun and demanded money and cell phones. No injuries were reported and the suspects fled in an unknown direction.
Suspect #1 is described as a black male, with a light complexion, standing 5’7” and 160 lbs. with a medium Afro. At the time of the incident he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black backpack.
Suspect #2 is described as a black male standing 6’1” and 160 lbs. wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a red hat.
Suspect #3 is described as a male standing 5’8” and 160 lbs. but no additional details were reported about his appearance.
The Columbus Division of Police is actively investigating and encourages anyone with information related to this crime to call CPD at 614-645-4545 or Crime Stoppers at 614-645-8477 (TIPS). Law enforcement will have extra patrols in the area.
