Neighborhood Safety Notice:
We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for an incident that occurred in the off-campus area.
On Sunday (9/8/19), at approximately 12:30 p.m., a female Ohio State student was walking near Indianola Avenue and E. 15th Avenue when a car pulled up beside her. An unknown male driver motioned for her to get in the vehicle and then told her to get in. The female student said no and continued walking away. The driver then pulled away and drove north.
The vehicle is described as a white, medium-sized car with a white piece of paper on the windshield with a handwritten note that says “Uber.” The driver is described as a black male in his 30’s with long dreadlocks, standing approximately 6’0” and weighing 190 pounds.

When possible, please walk with friends or coworkers and always be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. Please utilize transportation services, when possible, and if you see something, say something: report suspicious behavior by calling police.
