Central Campus Security Services Recognizes Exemplary Service

The Central Campus Security Services division of Ohio State's Department of Public Safety has announced exemplary service for 2017-2018.  Our congratulations to all who serve to help keep our campus safer.

Chad Smith, Security Officer of the Year – Chad Smith joined the Department of Public Safety’s Central Campus Security Services in March 2004 as a Security Officer, assigned to the Wexner Center for the Arts. Chad is now a Campus Protection Officer, a role that services the entire campus, and is one of the longest-serving officers in this role. Mr. Smith is a mentor for his peers and is called upon often in acting supervisory roles for the division. His friendly, positive demeanor allows him to work alongside anyone effectively. He exemplifies what it means to be a model officer for the entire division.

Kyle Beck, Security Supervisor of the Year – Kyle Beck joined the Department of Public Safety’s Central Campus Security Services in August 2010 as a Security Officer. He was assigned to the Wexner Center for the Arts and continues in his role of protecting that facility. He was promoted to the role of Security Supervisor in 2015. Mr. Beck has received numerous recognitions during his tenure and is a past recipient of Security Officer of the Year. Kyle values contributions of the staff he serves and remains committed to their development. He is a strong mentor for new staff members and an advocate for personal and professional development.
