Neighborhood Safety Notice:
We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for a crime that occurred in the off-campus area.
Columbus Police is actively investigating an aggravated robbery that began in the immediate off-campus area on Saturday afternoon. The victim is not affiliated with Ohio State. CPD's full media advisory is pictured (right) and the incident summary is listed below.
Incident Summary: The victim was walking in the alley in the rear of 135 E. Norwich Street when a silver mini-van approached him from behind. The passenger exited the van, pointed a gun at the victim, and forced him into the van. The suspect pistol whipped the victim and took his property. The victim was transported to an alley near the intersection of E. Long Street and Champion Avenue and released.
The victim described the primary suspect as wearing a ski mask and having dreadlocks. The victim described the driver as having cream-colored dreadlocks.
