Public Safety Notice Clarification

Finding entertaining activities every day during COVID-19 was becoming increasingly difficult for Jim Sheehan. The former OSUPD Officer had been isolating in his Los Angeles home for months with his wife, Kathleen.

Sheehan and his wife own a consulting business, but they had to temporarily halt work in March due to the Coronavirus limiting travel to meet with clients. 

A Buckeye Alert system test will occur on Friday (8/28). Students, faculty and staff on all Ohio State campuses will receive a text message that will be clearly identified as a test. If a Buckeye Alert is issued, information will also be posted at emergency.osu.edu.

We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for a crime that occurred in the off-campus area.

The 2020 autumn semester will present many new challenges but the Department of Public Safety's focus on safety remains the same. In addition to return to campus safety protocols surrounding masking, physical distancing and hygiene, the university is reminding everyone that Mirror Lake is not intended or approved for recreational use on any kind.
