Neighborhood Safety Notice:
We are sharing this news on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for a crime that occurred in the off-campus area. The below is a media advisory released by CPD. Any information regarding the incident should be shared directly with CPD.
On July 16, 2017, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Columbus Police officers were called to 165 E. 11th Avenue on the report of gunshots and of people yelling that someone had been shot. Upon arrival, officers did locate a shooting victim in the common area of the apartment building, later identified as Mohamed Abidraman Mead, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by CFD Medic 13 to OSU Main Hospital in extremely serious condition. Mr. Mead is still currently still being treated at the hospital and his condition is unchanged. The investigation continues.
