  • OSUPD Welcomes Two New Officers with Pinning Ceremony

    The Ohio State University Police Division (OSUPD) welcomed two new sworn officers to the force with its pinning ceremony on February 17, 2023. Officers Nobin Rahut and Kevin Krasa, both Ohio State grads, received their OSUPD badge.

  • Meet OSUPD's Newest K9

    As The Ohio State University Police Division welcomes its newest K9, Ty, officers continue weekly training with their four-legged partners. The four K9s that make up OSUPD's K9 unit are all trained in explosives and patrol. Watch as they sweep the seventh floor of the Blackwell Hotel during a training exercise. 

  • In the News: When does weather warrant canceling in-person classes?

    Ohio State’s Columbus campus has cancelled classes just 19 times since 1978, as the threshold for a class cancellation on a college campus is far higher than that of K-12. When considering whether to cancel in-person classes due to severe weather, information is gathered, and a recommendation is brought forward by the executive vice president and provost.

  • 4th Annual Drive-Through Toys for Tots Donation Event

    The Ohio State University’s Department of Public Safety hosted its 4th annual drive-through event to collect donations curbside on December 8, 2022. 

    The department was able to collect 800 toys, breaking its 2021 record of 760. All items collected are distributed to kids throughout central Ohio via the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program.
