We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police regarding a series of crimes that occurred in the off-campus area.
A series of crimes similar in nature occurred overnight, with all taking place off-campus between 10:25 p.m. and 2:20 a.m.
The Licking County Board of Health named OSUPD Staff Sergeant Adam Featherling as its 2021 Public Health Guardian Award recipient recognizing his hard work and dedication in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. Featherling received the award at the Board of Health meeting Tuesday evening.
As students head back to campus for the new semester, safety and security remain at the forefront.
On 8/16/2021, at approximately 1:07 a.m., a male Ohio State student was robbed at gunpoint in the area of E. 16th Avenue and Waldeck Avenue, just east of Pearl Alley. The victim was walking west on 16th Avenue when a vehicle approached, the suspect got out and confronted him. The male suspect stole the victim’s cell phone before fleeing northbound in the vehicle.
