The Ohio State University is officially StormReady, according to the National Weather Service. The designation highlights Ohio State’s commitment to alerting the campus community about severe weather.
“The safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors is our number one priority,” said Jay Kasey, senior vice president for the Office of Administration and Planning. “We are proud to become one of four Ohio universities to meet the high standards set forth by the National Weather Service.”

The Ohio State University Police Division swore in three new police officers during a ceremony on February 9. Officers Bruce Allen, Kyle Yeager and Chris Dzubak took the oath of office from Andraea Douglass, senior vice president in the Office of Human Resources.
Officer Allen graduated from Ohio State and previously worked as a trooper for the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Emergency Management will conduct a test of the Buckeye Alert system on Wednesday (2/10). Students, faculty and staff associated with the Columbus campus will receive a text message that will be clearly identified as a test. Remember, Buckeye Alert also sends severe weather alerts to the entire university community for tornado warnings.
If a Buckeye Alert is issued, information will be posted on the campus status page.
