Lyft Ride Smart at Ohio State is expanding hours for a second time as Ohio State continues to offer safety enhancements on and off campus. Service will now start earlier each day, and run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., seven days a week. The program offers eligible students discounted rides, inside the university-designated service area, including into the Short North. Sign up online.

The force of an elbow jab is powerful enough to fend off an attacker and allow you time to run to safety. OSUPD’s Officer Cassi Shaffer, one of Ohio State’s Empowerment and Self-Defense instructors, teaches a self-defense technique called “Front Elbow” in this week’s Safety Spotlight.
