Neighborhood Safety Notice – August 7, 2021
We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police regarding a crime that occurred in the off-campus area.
Action Required for XTS/XTL Radio Users
All Ohio State departments using XTS/XTL radios must install software upgrades by June 30, 2022 to keep them in working order. Software costs $138.75 per radio and the new two-factor security software, Link Layer, must be installed in all radios connected to the system or they will not work beginning July 1, 2025.
National Emergency Alert Test – Aug. 11
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct a nationwide emergency alert test on August. 11. During this time, wireless emergency alerts (WEA) compatible cell phones will receive a test message.
