We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for a crime that occurred in the off-campus area.
Police arrested an 18-year old man earlier today following an incident that occurred on campus around 3 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Two Ohio State students were walking near Curl Market, located at Woodruff Avenue and College Road, when a male who was unknown to them approached on foot. He pointed a bb-gun that looked like a real gun at them and demanded their belongings.

Registration is open for The Ohio State University Police Division’s free Community Police Academy. The four-week program runs October 20 through November 10 and meets each Wednesday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The class is hosted in Blankenship Hall and includes open discussion and scenario-based role playing to give participants first-hand experience through the eyes of law enforcement.
This update is being shared to provide additional clarification about the shooting incident that occurred on High Street on Saturday, September 11. Police are actively investigating the incident in which a mother of an Ohio State student was wounded and transported to the hospital.
