The Ohio State University is enhancing safety and security resources on and around the Columbus campus.
These enhancements, led by Acting President Peter Mohler, are part of the university’s ongoing, holistic review of safety for students, faculty and staff. The investment adds to the current annual campus public safety budget of more than $35 million.
Police have the primary suspect in custody in relation to the robbery of an Ohio State student that led to the issuance of a Public Safety Notice on Wednesday, September 6. The suspect is a juvenile and is charged with aggravated robbery, a crime that occurred outside the Residence on Tenth Residence Hall.
The Ohio State University Police Division would like to thank the Columbus Division of Police for assisting in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
Excitement is in the air as the Buckeyes prepare to host Youngstown State on Saturday at Ohio Stadium. While the football game kicks off at Noon, the university expects fans and visitors to arrive early and stay late.

As students head back to campus for the start of autumn semester, The Ohio State University Police Division (OSUPD) welcomed a new officer to its division with a pinning ceremony on August 18, 2023. “I’m so excited to be here,” said Officer Corey Manley. “Ever since I was little, I’ve loved the Buckeyes.”
OSUPD has hired nine officers since January 2022, and has an authorized strength of 70 sworn police officers.
