You were just named Supervisor of the Year. What does this award mean to you?

Since I was nominated by my co-workers, it means a lot.  Effective law enforcement work requires good teamwork and I couldn’t do my job well if I didn’t have a good team to work with.

Almost 4 years. I started June of 2022. 

You were just named Officer of the Year. What does this award mean to you?

 It is an honor. I work with a lot of amazing officers who should’ve also won the award. I appreciate the recognition.

I’ve been with the Ohio State University Police Division for a year and a half. Before working for the Police Division, I worked as a Security Officer at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for two years.

I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and grew up in poverty. That experience taught me the values of empathy and perseverance, but I didn’t yet understand what opportunity looked like—or how to pursue it.
