The following crime occurred in:
Off Campus

On 4/27/16, at around 1:10 p.m., Columbus Police responded to a reported home invasion shooting at 70 West Northwood Avenue, which is located off-campus, north of the Columbus campus. The suspect reportedly shot two individuals before fleeing in an unknown direction. He is described as a black male with dreadlocks, standing 6 feet tall and wearing a black shirt and glasses. The suspect is believed to be armed. If you see someone matching this description, please do not engage and instead dial 9-1-1 immediately.

Until it was determined there was no immediate danger, a shelter in place directive was issued for the Ohio State campus while Columbus Police and The Ohio State University Police actively searched for the suspect. However, this directive has been lifted as Columbus Police actively investigate. As always, if you see something suspicious, say something immediately: call University Police at 614-292-2121 or Columbus Police at 614-645-4545. Always call 9-1-1 in emergencies.
