The following crime occurred in:
On Campus

On 3/2/16, a female student reported an assault which took place Tuesday (3/1/16) between 11:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The female student reported being confronted by an unknown, male suspect while walking back to her residence facility. The incident occurred near Woodruff Avenue between Schoenbaum Hall, Gerlach Hall and Norton House. The suspect grabbed the female student by the arm and pushed her against a wall before grabbing her by the throat. He also made several verbal advances. The female student fought back, hitting and kicking the suspect prior to running away to safety.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, with medium build and brown hair, standing between 5' 6" and 5' 8" tall. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt, possibly black in color and his voice was described as slightly raspy and sort of deep. Anyone with information is encouraged to call OSU Police at 614-292-2121.

Becoming the victim of a crime is no one’s fault, however, we remind you to increase your overall safety by being cautious and looking out for one another; being aware of your surroundings and looking assertive; walking with a trusted friend or co-worker, when possible; if a situation makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, choose an alternative.
