Willie J. Young Sr. Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement (OCCSE) is now offering complementary personal safety alarms to Ohio State students, that, when triggered, create a loud noise that can be heard a couple hundred feet way.
The new devices are small and lightweight, perfect for a keychain or backpack. They are also easy to use. Setting off the device by pulling out the pin triggers an alarm that is at least 100 decibels and can be heard up to 175-225 feet away. When the student feels safe, the device can be reconnected, and the alarm stops.
