Wexner Medical Center Front Line Staff Appreciation

A welcome surprise after a long day on the front lines. On a Wednesday evening in May, Wexner Medical Center staff were greeted by police, fire and medical personnel who lined the street to share their appreciation for all that our health care heroes are doing for patients and the community.

More than 10 cruisers, a medic and two Columbus fire engines parked by the sidewalk on the hill, just north of the Transit Hub.

Grandview Heights and Upper Arlington police and fire also gave their praise by lining the John Herrick Bridge with their fire trucks and support cruisers. A ladder truck from CFD joined them on the bridge.

Just after 6 p.m., all emergency lights were activated. Fire and police personnel stood near the Transit Hub crosswalk, forming a path for employees as they walked to and from work. The crowd showed support by clapping and thanking them as they passed by.

Department of Public Safety leaders are considering another round of praise to thank the medical personnel who work alternate shifts.
