This Public Safety Notice is being issued because of recurring home invasion robberies in the university district. On 9/11/13 Columbus Police responded to 102 W Maynard Ave on a home invasion robbery. At approximately 11:30 a.m. a female OSU Student awoke to two suspects pointing guns at her. They bound her hands and put her in the basement. The suspects gained entry through a side window. Suspects are described as: Latino male, 25-30 yrs old, 6’0” to 6’2”, 220 lbs Black male, 6’1” 195, wearing a gray Michigan sweatshirt and a mask On 8/19/13, at approximately 9:58 am Columbus Police responded to a caller who advised he and his roommate were victims of a home invasion robbery at 35 W. Oakland Ave. The male OSU Students responded to a knock on the door and were confronted by two suspects who forced their way into the residence at knifepoint. Suspects were described as: White Male, 20-25 yrs old, 6’-6’1, 150 lbs., clean shaven, short blond hair, wearing an OSU red hoodie Black Male, 20-25, 6’-6’1, 150 lbs, dark clothing All members of the university community are reminded to be vigilant about securing their homes, and should always lock all doors and windows and immediately report any suspicious activity to police using the contact information provided below.
