The purpose of this message is to heighten your safety awareness by providing community members with information necessary to take appropriate precautions, enable you to take actions to help increase your safety, and to aid in the prevention of similar crimes.
On December 9th, 2009 at 5:37 p.m. a female staff member reported a robbery attempt which occurred in the south west corner of the 12th Ave. and Cannon Drive parking lot west of the OSU Hospitals. The victim reports being physically assaulted during the attempt to remove her purse. The victim was attacked from the rear and was able to keep her property from being taken.The suspect was described as a male black, age unknown, approximately 5’7” to 5’8” in height, medium build wearing a puffy black jacket and black pants. The jacket was believed to be possibly a parka type jacket with fur on the hood. The suspect had short hair or a shaved head.
