All Ohio State departments using XTS/XTL radios must install software upgrades by June 30, 2022 to keep them in working order. Software costs $138.75 per radio and the new two-factor security software, Link Layer, must be installed in all radios connected to the system or they will not work beginning July 1, 2025. Departments planning to replace these radios prior to July 1, 2025 do not need to install the software.
